Laurel High School went to McComb, MS and came away with the W. Laurel won its very first game of the season. Laurel Tornado beat the McComb Tigers 24-19. Laurel is now 1-5 for the season.
Last year, Laurel lost its first 5 out of 6 games as well but went to the state championship where they were the state runner-up. Laurel's next upcoming game is Laurel vs Stone at Laurel during Laurel's Homecoming.
The game which earlier was announced would be televised live on TV was themed: King of the District Rematch. However, that game will no longer be broadcast live on TV at the request of Laurel Public School District. The game would have reached over 100,000 households if broadcasted live TV.
You can however still purchase tickets for the game which is schedule to kickoff at 7pm.
