According to ESPN, Aly Khan Johnson, an assistant coach to for Coach Boone, said he passed away at his home in Alexandria, VA. He also revealed that Coach Boone has been battling cancer, and he would visit the coach reguluarly in which he had planned to do Wednesday when he had found out about his passing.
Coach Boone inspired America as we remember his incredicable story portrayed by Oscar Winning Actor, Denzel Washington in "Remember the Titans."In 1971, Boone led the T.C. Williams High School football team to the state chamionship. "He touched many lives and hearts across the world," said Dr. Gregory Hutchings Jr, Alexandria City School Superintendent.
He went on to say, "He was inspirational for so many people."
