Golden State Warriors in Named the Best Franchise of the Decade


The Golden States Warrior has been named the Sports Franchise of the Decade by Sports Business Journal. The Golden State Warriors is the first and only team to privately fund a sports arena, the $1.4 billion Chase Center in San Francisco. Since being purchased in 2010 by Joe Lacob and Peter Guber, the team has accomplished a478-262 record and is reportedly worth $3.5 billion.

The Franchise of the Decade is a prestigious industry award that recognizes the very best of the best franchises over the last 10 years.

The Golden Sate Warriors have went to 5 straight NBA Finals, the first team to do so since the 1957 Boston Celtics, winning 3 championship since 2010, and tied the Celtics by accumulating the best 6 season stretch with a 373-119 record.

The Gold State Warriors is owned by Joe Lacob, a partner at venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, and Peter Guber, Group Chief Executive of Mandalay Entertainment.
