On Thursday, June 27, 2019, several pinebelt organizations are asking for the entire public to come out to the C. E. Roy Community Center, 300 E. 6th Street for a major event featuring Pine Belt Candidates. The event kicks off at 6pm to 8pm. It's free and open to the public.
The public is strongly encouraged to come and ask tough questions to the candidates. Each candidate is expected to give a opening statement no more than 5 minutes long before taking questions from the general public.
The event is gearing up for one of the biggest elections this year, the August 6, 2019, which is the primary for both major political parties. The event is jointly sponsored by the Forrest County Brand of the NAACP, the League of Women Voters Pine Belt, and Forward365 Mississippi.
